Getting over your fears about approaching Careers

“The Wall is a colossal fortification which stretches for 100 leagues
(300 miles) along the northern border of the Seven Kingdoms, defending
the realm from the wildlings who live beyond.”

So you are a student, you want to come and ask the Careers and Employability for advice, but there is one thing standing in your way… the wall. I will probably make myself unpopular with University staff for comparing them to the ‘wildings’ from Game of Thrones, but I can assure you, they are far less aggressive!

The Careers Service is based in Student Central just opposite Starbucks and, unlike the wildings, we are lovely  and want to help you in any way that we can (specifically enquiries regarding your career).

If you don’t want to talk to us, why don’t you come and have a look at all of the wonderful resources we have available in the careers area, or come and have a look at the job vacancy board – which displays both part time and graduate jobs!

Conquer the wall, and come and ask the Careers Service for help!

So don’t be put off coming to visit us because of the wall: come in and explore – and the Careers and Employability Service will help lay your fears to rest and can help you kick start your career.
