The Impact of Future Talent Partnerships

Susanne Mills & Paula Atherill
Directors of Creative Analysis
Susanne and Paula participated in the Student Consultancy Project in 2025, just as Creative Analysis was preparing to launch a new service, and benefitted from the students' input at a crucial moment in their organisations development.
Creative Analysis is a purpose-led digital consultancy that helps organisations make meaningful, measurable change through people-centred systems and collaborative digital transformation. As an Advanced Zoho Partner with over 12 years’ experience, we specialise in designing and delivering bespoke CRM ecosystems and process-driven solutions that align with how teams actually work. Our structured approach – Discover, Design, Deliver, Deepen – ensures every system is grounded in real needs and built to evolve.
Alongside digital transformation, we also support organisations to better understand and communicate their impact. Using the MetaImpact Framework, we help uncover the wider outcomes of their work across emotional, social, cultural and environmental dimensions – not just financial or operational metrics. This is a growing area of our work, and the students from Huddersfield University played a valuable role in developing how we approach this.
We work across a wide range of sectors including education, consultancy, the third sector, and community-led initiatives. What sets us apart is our commitment to co-design: we listen first, map processes with care, and create systems that empower people, not overwhelm them. Our team is self-managed, multidisciplinary and deeply collaborative – bringing together expertise in data, development, training and impact to support organisations at every stage of their digital journey.
Why We Took Part
We chose to take part in the project because we recognised the value that the MSc students could bring – fresh thinking, academic insight and a breadth of perspectives grounded in their course learning. We were especially interested in the opportunity to work with a group, knowing that a collaborative team approach would bring a more rounded, well-considered output.
At the time, we were preparing to launch our new Impact Service Delivery – a service designed to help organisations uncover and articulate the full extent of their impact. We wanted support to shape our launch strategy, with a particular focus on digital promotion and how best to communicate our message across social channels. Taking part in this project gave us the chance to explore those questions with curious, informed minds and benefit from their external input at a key moment in our development.
Setting the Brief
The project focused on three priorities: identifying UK teal organisations and B Corps as a target market, improving Creative Analysis’ visibility as a human‑centred and sustainability‑focused consultancy, and shaping a strong positioning and marketing strategy that aligns with their ethical, sustainable values. We asked the team to analyse brand perception, evaluate current marketing effectiveness, and recommend strategies to support a successful, values‑aligned launch and sustainable growth.
Fresh Ideas and Perspectives
The students brought a fantastic range of fresh ideas and practical suggestions that really helped us shape the early direction of our launch. They explored how we might describe the service more clearly, identified where and how to promote it, and undertook valuable research into our target market. This insight gave us greater focus and confidence around who we were speaking to and how to position the service effectively.
They also contributed to defining key elements of our launch – including ideas for a webinar, recommendations for our website landing page, and a content style tailored for LinkedIn. Each student brought different strengths to the table: one took the lead on coordination and communication, another had a strong grasp of social media strategy and content creation, and the remaining two offered expertise in communication techniques and market understanding. It was a well-balanced team, and the diversity of their thinking enriched the outcomes of the project.
Working with the Students
Our experience working with the student team from Huddersfield University was extremely positive. One of their greatest strengths was how well they organised themselves. The team showed a high level of coordination from the very beginning – setting up meetings, managing communications, and keeping the project on track with clarity and consistency. Their structured and professional approach made the collaboration smooth and productive.
Each student brought individual strengths – from project coordination and digital strategy to social media content and communications – and together, they worked as a cohesive team to deliver valuable insight and actionable recommendations. Their final presentation was clear and well delivered, and their written report showed real thought and care. It was a real pleasure to collaborate with such a committed group, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to support and learn from them.

Support from the University
The University made it clear from the start that if we needed to contact them for any reason throughout the process then we could. The tutor supporting our group of students attended key meetings when they were able and also kept in touch with us to make sure everything was on track.
We were invited to the University to hear the students final presentation and it was a great opportunity to talk to staff and some other businesses who had also been involved in the project.
Key Takeaways
The Project gives students the chance to work on real world scenarios and experience different ways of working. For them to see that some of their recommendations were being immediately implemented was extremely rewarding and proof that the skills and knowledge they have gained on their course can have real world impact.
Advice to Other Businesses
We would highly recommend getting involved in the student consultancy project. The process was very rewarding and the students brought great energy, ideas and proposals that we were able to immediately apply to our business.
We met regularly with the group on Zoom following our first, in person meeting. These meetings gave the students chance to ask questions and for us to give feedback, ensuring that the project stayed on track. We believe this regular communication made all the difference to the overall experience.
