I’ve lived in Huddersfield for nearly 6 years so have seen a lot of student accommodation! I started off living at Ashenhurst; a small student village, with shared houses and big grassy areas for enjoying nice weather. Living here allowed me to meet new people, make friends and find people to share accommodation with going forward.
I got a lot of practical help finding accommodation from the Students' Union. They gave me tips on what questions to ask when and what I should bear in mind when looking around a property.
One of the great things about living in Huddersfield is that it’s affordable, particularly in comparison to other nearby cities. There are also great transport links across town so wherever you decide to make your home, you can easily get to uni in the morning. Huddersfield is also really well placed to easily take advantage of neighbouring towns and cities should you fancy a change of scene.

I'm an English & Linguistics graduate and current TESOL postgraduate student with a passion for languages. I have been learning German and Spanish for a few years, currently taking a break from them with an attempt at BSL and I am loving it! In my spare time I love to read fantasy books and mythologies from around the world, play board and video games and participate in LARP (Live Action Role Play) events! In short - I am a big languages and fantasy nerd!
