Why I chose Huddersfield for Drama.

Choosing your university is a big decision. One you have to put careful thought and consideration behind. Your job is to find one that suits your needs best.

My job is to convince you to come here!

My vlog this week lists some of my reasons for choosing this university. Of all the things I’ve done so far in my life, I think coming to uni is one of the best (either that or using my grill to make marshmallow and Nutella sandwiches).

Some of my personal reasons are as follows:

• It was close enough to my hometown so that I wouldn’t be homesick yet far away enough for me to have my freedom.
• Unlike a lot of universities, this place is situated in a town surrounded by countryside rather than a big crowded city. Not only is it homely but everything I need (train station, shops, the campus) is in a short walking distance.
• The University has had some incredible reviews and had won University of the Year in 2013 (the year before I came).
• I’ve had family and friends come to the University and sing its praises.
• It had entry requirements that I knew I could meet.
• Sir Patrick Stewart was chancellor so it has one of Britain’s finest actors’ approval.
• There’s quick and easy links to Manchester and Leeds.
• There’s a place that serves crepes in town. The list goes on!

Since coming here, I’ve discovered there’s so much more to this place than meets the eye. The facilities for the courses, particular for Drama, are excellent and the staff are extremely helpful and interesting. 

Huddersfield is such a well-rounded university that opens a lot of doors. I seriously couldn’t recommend it enough. Purely the experience of uni changes you into something wonderful.
