When choosing your course it’s important to be sure you know what you’re getting out of the course. It’s important to fully research the course and university you’re interested in so to help you make your decision here’s a few places you can learn about courses:
A UCAS Exhibition is a great place to talk to university representatives and familiarise yourself with a wide range of institutions in one places. Not only that, but there are often representatives from Student Finance England and UCAS itself to give you advice on everything from gap years, applications and student life to budgeting and student loans.
The UCAS website has a search engine that allows you to filter through your preferences and find the best course for you. But don’t just check UCAS as every university has its own website for you to explore and see what they can offer you.
Prefer the old fashioned way? You can order prospectuses online, over the phone or even pick one up at higher education events. Prospectuses give you an overall insight into the university as well as listing all the courses available.
The best way to see what a university is really like is to go there yourself. Open Days are a chance to walk around the campus and talk to tutors about their subjects as well as giving you the opportunity to see all the facilities it has to offer and sit in taster sessions. It’s also a great chance to talk to current students and get the word straight from the horse’s mouth and find out more about what it’s like to study there from a student’s perspective.
So those are just a few ways of learning more about university courses. Want to know more about the University of Huddersfield’s Open Days? Click Here!
