Postgraduate Courses and Talks

For some students the main criteria to choosing a University is the academic course they are enrolling on. With that comes a lot of questions and information you may need before arrival. Through the PG Study Fair you will get the opportunity to chat with academic staff from the different Schools about the course you are interested in. If there is any particular module you are interested in and need more information about, chatting online with a tutor can really help.

You can also watch some short videos about funding for postgraduate taught and research courses, how to find a research supervisor and how to apply for a research degree.

Postgraduate Student Experience

Sometimes you may prefer to speak to current students so that you can get their perspective on the postgraduate experience. I will be one of the current students chatting online at the Digital Postgraduate Study Fair.

You can chat with us about the University, the postgraduate community, what support is available, different societies and clubs, events on and off campus or just student life in general. As an international student I can give an insight into my student experience and help you to discover more about the international student experience and how I made friends and got involved in the postgraduate community.

Support for postgraduate students

Attending the Digital Postgraduate Study Fair can answer some of the main questions you have regarding student finance, finding out more about career options or accommodation and support services like wellbeing and disability. At this fair you will have the opportunity to chat online with these services:

The Student Finance team can answer your questions about bursaries, loans and discounts.
The Careers and Employability Service can guide you on how to build your career by working part-time or finding placement jobs.
The Wellbeing and Disability team can speak with you about how they can support you with your concerns such as dealing with stress or depression.
If research is your thing then chat to the team about finding a supervisor, progressing your application and much more.
If you’re looking to study with us from overseas then we can help you with visa advice, immigration and much more.
If you need accommodation whilst you’re in Huddersfield then find out what your options are.
