How to get the most out of UniBuddy
Hello, in this blog I’m going to give you tips on how you can get the most out of UniBuddy. So read along! For many of us picking the right university is very crucial and therefore we frequently have a lot of questions as a student. We often find that the best person to answer these questions is a current student at the University, but you may not know any. UniBuddy is a platform that offers you the opportunity to speak with current students from the University. This experience makes it easier and relaxed about the decisions you are about to make.
How to pick the best UniBuddy
Every UniBuddy has a separate profile which holds information about where they are from, what they study and what hobbies and interests they have. Picking a UniBuddy with the same or similar course, nationality and hobbies can help you get a more fitted reply for any of your questions. For example, if you are a student from India and are wondering about the food, if you are interested in dance and would like to join a society, if you just want more information on the modules about the course or just simply if you want general information about the University and its surrounding. You may not find one student with all these similar fields. But that's okay because you can chat with more than one student as you may have multiple questions. Sometimes you may even find a staff member to chat with if you feel like you need in depth information.
Ask about anything and everything
Don’t be shy to ask your UniBuddy about anything related to your university life. This is how you can get the most out of it. As a prospective student, you may have many similar concerns just like any other prospective student. Since your UniBuddy was also once a prospective student, they understand exactly how it feels. Your UniBuddy can answer any questions regarding your course to your accommodation, and can often direct you to the right place to get the best answers for you. The more questions you ask, the easier your process will become as you will be more aware of the University and other services from a current students perspective. In case you missed out a question, don’t worry about it. You can always go back on the same chat to ask your questions, and you should get a reply within 24 hours. It’s just like chatting with a friend.
About the University and Town
If you are an international student specifically, you might be nervous about having to live alone or might even be worried about the culture shock. That’s why I would recommend asking questions about the atmosphere of the University and town. One of the best parts about going to study away from home is the student life experience that you can get. To make the most of it you can ask questions about what social activities the University has to offer and what interesting places might be in town that you may like. This is where chatting with a UniBuddy who has the similar interests and hobbies is useful because they are already involved with or may be aware of something that you may find interesting and can join. These questions can also be related to what you may essentially need to know about the town like restaurants, supermarkets, the cinema and theatre, etc.
Get more than one opinion
You often hear people say get more than one medical advice, or if you are about to buy something online you would check more than one review. The UniBuddy platform is similar. I would suggest to chat with at least two or more UniBuddies and ask them any questions you may have. This will help you make a better judgement as you will have more opinions to consider from and can decide on what majority of the current students have to say.
I hope these tips have been helpful for you. Now that you have come to the end of this blog, go right on and pick your UniBuddy because they are waiting to answer your questions here.
